This is the photo series of Qian Thung and her cousin sister, Thung Yuan. Both of them sharing the same birthday, which mean they are exactly 365 days apart only.

See the difference of their height, which is also the growth of a kids in a year.

She treated her as her baby sister or probably a doll, pushing her here and there in the toy stroller.

She shared out her favourite puzzle - Angry bird.

One thing she refuse to share is her beloved mummy. She will jealous if I carry her cousin sister.

Hand Foot Mouth disease

End July, Qian Thung was down with hand foot mouth disease for the 1st time in her lifetime at the age of 2 years old and 10 mths. I guess her body system is functioning well and strong, as she did not develop any fever before the red sport sprout out from her palm and feet. We actually separated and isolated her from her cousin brother, Matthew who was diagnosed with minor hand foot mouth disease for about 1 week. Still, the backteria defeated and she lost her appetide for few days (which is very rare), before the sign and symptom appears.

We are lucky and thankful to my mother in law whom is in full duty when the children is down with illness. Qian Thung was staying with grandparent for few days and nights till full recovery.

Last Sunday, my girls participated in the church annual competition of the reciting bible verses.. Qian Yi was ok to go out and recite it out and loud using the micro but the small girl was too shy, she didn't even want to open her mouth ... However, back home I am surprised that she can memorised and recite it out...

Puzzle Lover

Last night, I was so surprised the moment I reached in law house to pick my little girl. She was sitting at the corner there and paying 101% attention at the puzzle work, and trying very hard to fix the small pieces one by one. She was really patient and focus at the work and didn't wanted to give up even though I try to 'phyco' her to stop the game. At last, I decided to help her and both of us spent almost 30 min to complete the work.

I am happy to know that she has interest at this game.

Weekend outing

In the past, we seldom bring the kids for outing in the Penang Island, all thanks to the lazy bug in both daddy and mommy.:p Lately, after reading few post from Pei Sze on the outings she bring her 2 kids, I was then remembered this place - Penang Hill, a place where my last visit was 20 years ago.....

We off to this place in the evening of a weekend Saturday...

All of us are excited for the cable car ride.... I bought the family package (2 adult + 2 kids) at RM18 only.

Green view along the way up to the hill. It took us less than 15 min to reach the peak.

We reached the peak around 7pm. Amazed at the nice scenery spot to view partial Penang island ... Never did I realised Penang has such a world class view...kekekek

The 3 excited kids - Qian Yi, Qian Thung and their cousin brother Jia Hong posing themself in front of Bukit Bendera.

We decided to have our dinner at David Brown's western restaurant, attracted by its unique building, garden and some good review from the blog... Food was not bad but it is a bit pricy.

We went down via the last trip of the cable car at 9pm....

It was indeed a good outing within Penang island. Everyone of us enjoy ourself with the natural breeze, nice scenery spot and the good food. Hmm... Look like I shall plan more trip for the kids in time to come..

My ai sui big girl self make-over for a weekend dinner. We almost fainted seeing her clowny face and daddy insisted she must wipe away her eyeshadow before she is allowed to follow us. lol

Counsin Matthew is Qian Thung good companion at in law house. Both of them see and play with each other everyday from the day QT was born. He is 5 months older than QT, but QT managed to give in whenever Matthew throw his temper.

Last night we attended a parenting talk organised by Kwang Hua school. One of the session during the 2 hours talk was, 'Wang Lao Shi' from Vshare Vcare asked both parent and kid to write a note/short letter to each other.

After 2 mths of schooling from Jan'2011, she is now adapting to the new environment and new schedule.

Her daily routine :-

8am - wake up and prepare to preschool care
8.30am - 12.30 noon : in her 'ang ching pang' for tuition, lunch and bath and prepare for her school schedule
6.30pm - we will fetch her from school

On our last day in KL, we stopped at Ikea complex. Daddy volunteered to accompanied and stayed with the 2 girls at Kids Zone while mommy was doing her last min shopping sphree. I was shocked to see this photo (I was not at the spot when they played this).. My coward little people is so brave to play this.....

Year end trip

Finally I have time to upload and update the last post for year 2010. After a long year of hard work, we finally decided to take a short break of 4 days 3 night to KL. It was a free and easy trip where we shop, eat, rest, sleep and swim at no time.

My 2 gals was excited upon checked in the hotel.

It was totally a good and easy experience to travel with 2 kids at the age of 6 and 2. Hope to have more chances to travel with them in the future...

Hand Foot mouth disease

This girl of mine seems like very prone to any disease out there... This time round, she was diagnosed with hand foot mouth disease on last Sat night after we came back from Strait Quay..

As prescribed by doctor, it is best to have her under home care instead of hospital stay. We have no choice but to separate her from Qian Thung by sending her back to maternal grandparent house for days.

This week update on Qian Thung

This strongest girl of mine is down with running nose, cough and fever this week. For 2 consecutive night, she woke up from sleep at 4.30am mid night with fever. We really have no idea where she infected the virus from as everyone of us at home are pretty healthy.

On the way to see the doctor...

Next day after she seeing the doctor, she resume back her normal cheeky act. She likes to check on her jie jie's school bag. She found this and wear up jie jie ballet shoe and sock, and pose herself.

During our recent shopping, we brought them to tour the ToysRus at Gurney Plaza...

Qian Thung's selection of the toys - baby in the stroller. But we did not buy for her at the end as jie jie has got a similar stroller at home.

When I look at this portrait of my 1st born baby this morning, I just realized how pretty she is...

Just not too long ago, I held her 2.62kg body at my arm the day she was born, followed by the 1st 3 yrs carefree days under the grandparent greatest love and care, and another 3 years time learning and playing at nursery school...

I always hope that my girls will love Chinese language, just like the mommy.... Ever since I switched her to the new kindy last December, I found that her degree of Chinese has improved tremendously ....

My little one requested this sentence to me - I want KOPI when i brought her along for lunch at one of the vegetarian store yesterday ... And guess what? She does enjoy the black coffee.

Looks like she is a real coffee baby since she started to drink coffee while she was still in my tummy.... I didn't quit of drinking coffee during the 9 mths carrying her, even though I know I have to...:P

I was super busy for the past few weeks, and that has caused the delay of late posting of Qian Yi's 6th year old birthday...

For the 1st time since she was born, I was absent on her big day - 15 Sept. Mommy was away at KL for a seminar. So, we'd pre-celebrated her birthday at Gurney Chicago Ribs on Raya weekend, followed by shopping for her birthday present... To try to wide away my guilt for my absence, I got her another set of Barbie with few sets of cloths... Mommy only got paper doll to play when I was 6...heheheh

My 1st born, who has transforming into a little adult today.....

We just pre-celebrated Qian Thung 2 years old birthday at Dorea BBQ on Sunday night…

Yes, she will be turning to 2 on 2rd of Sept… Time flies super fast, I still could remember her birth-story vividly even though it was 24 months ago… And now my memory is deteriorating day after day, I guess I can hardly remember any of those detailed moment when I am 40, 50, 60 or older and older…..I better pen down here on those memory that I could still remember as at now…

Once upon a time,

1) For the 9 mths, it was a completely easier pregnancy stage… I could eat, sleep, work as normal as a non-pregnancy woman…
2) 9 mths over fast, and u decided the day u wanted to meet all of us on 2 Sep 2008 night.. It was a smooth delivery which only took less than 3 hours, without the help of epidural which mommy never ever thought I could make it.
3) During the one month confinement, u were an extremely good newborn who just sleep and eat all day long without making any single fuss…
4) From month 2 onwards till today, u are still good and sweet little pie as always…I

Another 2 more weeks, my little gal will turn to 2. Have not really figure out how to celebrate her 2 yrs old birthday yet.

At this stage,

- she know and understand most of the happening around her clearly.

- her speech development is not super fast nor super slow... she can say : I want gargle... phew, put here, phone, please, and a lot more.
- her appetite is as good as ever. That's explain why her current weight is at 12.6kg
- she loves to dance, especially when the jie jie sing Nobody song.
- she reveal the caring and sharing characterisct at this young stage.
Eg 1 : She shares out her favourite food, egg with mommy during meal time without me even requested;
Eg 2 : she shares out ice cream with ah mah.
Eg 3 : She quickly carry a pillow to her dear gong gong when she saw the gong gong sleep on the floor without a proper pillow. How sweet!
- she loves book. Daddy always tease she is 'second hand book store'. She is still happy to take the hand me down book from her jie jie.

- She has a bad habit... she likes to hit and beat jie jie as and when she feel she wants to...

This morning, I went to register Qian Yi for standard 1 in year 2011. Upon finishing the registration, I toured the school campus and all of a sudden, all the emotional feeling kicked in as I walked....

I was 7 yrs old that year, studied in Standard 1 in the same school too... I could still remember the naughty boy who sat besides me, my best friend's name, the teacher's name and some of the funny things... And now, my big gal will follow my growing steps... How time flies fast!!!!

She has grown up fast, from my 1st newborn to a little girl who is going to start the study journey that I went through stage by stage...

All I hope and pray is she will enjoy each moment of her life, just like me..

This is a belated Mother's day posting that I dedicated to my beloved grandmum who demised 13 years ago...

Hi Popo,

This is not the first time I write to u, I remembered I do write to u on and off while I was away for study many years ago. But this will defnitely be the 1st time I am writing to u since the day u left us.... Yes, 27th April 1997 to be exact. Till now, I am still not very happy that u choose that time of the year to bid goodbye to all of us.... I know this is all god decision, but this has in turn become my biggest guilt in my life, for being absent from your life farewell. I refused to imagine how 'lau juak' your funeral was....

Ok, let's change to a more recent topic... I just wanted to tell u that miracle do happen here... Guess what? We just had a gathering dinner to celebrate the recent Mother's day... There will be a total of 6 mothers there if u were still with us. hehehe.... But I believe you are the most happiest mother up there in the sky for this Mother's day season...

It's a very rare thing nowadays for Qian Thung to be wanted to be carried by jie jie.... Just wonder why.....

Jie jie has lost 4 of her milk tooth after CNY...

Both of them were watching a cartoon from my notebook... See the way QT sat on jie jie's lap...

This little helper is really 'powerful'... she can vacuum the floor with this red gadget for almost 10 min long... For those who used this vacuum cleanner before will know the weight....

Just can't believe the last posting I have in this blog was exactly one month ago. We were so tied up with the pre-moving house, moving house as well as post moving house. And finally, we have settled down in our new nest...

Update on jie jie, nowadays she is one of the busy-lady at home.

Her timetable is as below :-

1) attending kindy from monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm. On top of that, she is required to complete homework at night.

2) Tue night, attending the piano lesson at 7.15pm - 8pm

3) Wed night, attending ballet class from 8.45pm - 9.45pm

4) Sunday morning, attending art and craft class from 10am - 12 noon

Update on the little people.

- She is 1 yr old and 7 months.
- She has a super good appetite...
- she can count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
- she can say A, B, C,

In short, she is a cheeky girl at home.

Sisterhood moment

At this tender age of 18 months, Qian Thung my small girl has a very strong tendency to be an 'ai sui cha boh' when she grows up. She loves to stand in front of the mirror to admire herself whenever she wears nice shirt or after her hair get combed. Having said that, she will normally pull off the hair clip or rubber band which I put on her hair.

This morning I was so shocked to see her new hair-do (done by her dearest che che) the moment I stepped out from the bathroom. According to che che, she was sitting still on the floor and willing to cooperate with her che che to get this hair style done within 5-10 min. She may looks rather ugly, still a good thumb up to che che, another big vain pot of mine.

Some, they always make me laugh and make my day when 2 of them playing peacefullly during weekend. Che che asked the mei mei to stand inside the trolly and pull her from one place to another in the house.

Hope they enjoy their sisterhood moment as much as they could.

I have quite a lot of back-dated posting especially those CNY posting. But I just can't stop myself from posting this photo of QT taken few hours ago...

At this stage,

- her weight is around 13-15kg, due to her super good daily appetite
- she is learning on the speech... she can say out bird bird, ball, daddy, jie jie, no more, more, ah mah, book and etc... Among all, the 2 frequent call out term is AH MAH, DADDY...
- she can understand our instruction very well, both in English and Mandarin.
- she is well-behaved and is a little good angel at both her grandparent house when mommy is not around. But she will turn into a big monster the moment mommy step into the house. Wonder whyyyyy??

At some days, Qian Yi my big girl turn out to be my personal assistant babysitter at home. She helps to bath Qian Thung (of course under my supervision), and entertain her sister while I was busy in the kitchen.

Exactly a year ago during my birthday, I'd imagined and visualised a photo of how my 2 girls were to compete among themself to blow my this year birthday candle.

Lanterns by the poolside at our home sweet home/apartment. 4 of us will be moving out from here very soon... Guess the only one who don't have mixed feeling amoung us is the little people, who is just too young to know and experience the change.

Little people is still as adorable as always but she is transforming into a big big worm nowadays.

Just bought a really cheap keyboard from Giant hypermarket, though Qian Yi has started her junior muzik class for months. Wanted to test how long this interest can last, before mommy willing to invest into a good piano.

While everyone is bidding farewell to 2009 and welcoming 2010, I just relax myself and trying to look back year 2009... Just can't believe a year of 365 days is just going to end today.

Anyway, after these 365 days in 2009, Qian Thung has grown up so much now that she is Qian Yi new and best playmate at home.

It's that season of the year again. A celebration and a reason to be jolly. We had a small party at home last nite, just wanted to feel the festive mood with the family members.

Qian Yi opened her presents happily. I got her the butterfly wings which she has been longed for quite a while.

Time flies... Qian Thung was only 3 months old last Christmas. This year, she is big enough to open her present by herself.

A Sweet Corn Lover

1) she will find a place to sit still for 30 min to just enjoy it;

For the first time ever, Qian Yi participated in the colouring contest last Sunday, organised by the neighbourhood at in-law place.

At last, my little people is backed from mother in law's house after 10 days of separation from us... This is the 1st time she is away from me since born.

For this 10 days, she has grown taller, and so as her hair.

Jie jie is so glad to have her back at home. She always claim that Qian Thung is the cuties baby in the world. I guess that is the sibling and sister love that count.

Once in a Lifetime illness

Both Qian Yi and me are down with chicken pox since last week. We started off with fever and discomfort till I found the 1st few spots surface our body on Monday morning. Without further delay, we quickly send Qian Thung back to mother in law house + bring her for the chicken pox vaccination on the same day we diagnosed with the pox.

For me, it's just a contagious disease but it's not a laughing matter to the elderly, especially my mum. She has imposed several Do and Don't list for the 2 of us. I felt like as if I am observing another round of confinement.

In short, minus out all the body reddess and itchiness causing by these countless of chickenpox blisters, we are rather happy to quarantine ourself at our own nest for this 2 weeks.

Activities that occupied QY's time is none other than by the dear box - TV. I lifted my usual rigid rules by allowing her to watch endless tv program all day long. Whereas for myself, just managed to catch up with some reading and net-surfing from day 5 onwards.

Besides, my cooking skill also improve to another level through multiples cooking session of lunch and dinner for 2 of us. I have never ever cook for more than 2 days consecutive in the past, but this round I cook for a consecutive of almost 2 weeks.

Last good new is I managed to shed off some stubborn fat from the body, brought forward from the 2nd pregnancy end of 2008. Qian Yi too has lost some of the baby fat. She looks quite petite now, will post up her latest photos later.

Another suffering besides the painful blisters is we are just missing our little companion so much ... but glad to know that she is under good hand of both grand parent.

At 1 yr and 2 months, QT is

- very cheecky and 'baleco' towards mommy. May be that is her way of testing how deep is mommy love to her.
- she can understand instruction given such as throw rubbish, go and sleep, go and take shoe and etc etc
- she likes to play with her jie jie.
- her weight is 10.4kg only. Just completed her 4 dose of pneumococal.

Excursion

We joined up the Jalan jalan makan makan ke Ipoh excursion with daddy's friend last Saturday...

Wake up at 5am and started our journey at 5.30am.

Reached Kellie castle after having sumptous dim sum breakfast at Fu San. History of the castle can be read from here...

I took the opportunity to introduce and explain what is a Castle means to QY, and try to link it to the castle in the Snow white fairy tale. She was very fascinated with it.

Graduation cum Concert

I signed up QY to participate in one of the performance few months back for her school Graduation cum Concert. She still has one more year to go with this kindy before she is officially entering primary school in 2011.

1st performance - Welcoming dance, Melody Musical

Disney character show ~ Snow white and the Price, Princess, little mermaid, Aladdin and all those characters in the fairy tale came live today on the stage...

At last, it was my girl's turn in 70s costume, performing the dancing - 庾澄庆的愛你的只有一個我. Superb!!!

I remembered during our schooling times, there were awards such as Best Student of the year being given to those student with good academic performance and good behaviour.

Last nite, QT has won a special award ~ Best girl in the house, given by paternal ah mah. :)

My in-law has a total of 4 granddaughters, aged from 7 mths old to 7 years old as well as a 17 months old grandson. QT is the second youngest in the family. The house is either full of laughter after laughter or fighting noise, and followed by crying by either one of the kid .... QT is the only one making least noise among this group of children, as such ah mah decided to crown her as Best Girl in the house award.

Congratulation, QT!!! Keep up the good work.

QY is 5 today

My big girl is 5 today. No longer a small girl like past 4 years, she express her thought to me that she would like to celebrate her big day of the year with her dearest classmate and teacher.

She has just officially turned to a toddler on 2 Sept... I can't really accept the fact that she is 1 yr old now. Time flies... Recalled back the past 1 yr, every bits and pieces was just like yesterday only... the very 1st moment we saw and met each other on the hospital bed, those mid-night milk pumping session, her 1st smile, her 1st teething, and many 1st milestones was so remarkable even though she is our second girl.

At 1 yr old,

- She can stand up by herself but she still can't walk. Looking forward for her 1st step soon.

- She started to talk few words, like mama, jie jie, owl, mum mum, and e e ah ah..

- I bought her her 1st shoe. She love it so much that she always wanted to wear by herself whenever she see that shoe

- She laughs loudly when we play with her

At last, we decided on the venue to celebrate Qian Thung 1 year old birthday at the Sarkies Corner E&O hotel. Just want to leave her a memorable memory of her 1st birthday, just like how we celebrated QY 1st birthday at Shangrila hotel 5 yrs ago.

The ambiance of the restaurant is cosy. Food theme for the night was Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

Birthday girl of the night, with her brand new dress... I can hardly believe she has turned 1 today.

Mommy didn't buy any birthday cake for her on that night, as I think we will not be able to consumer any more cake after the buffet. I just decorate the cake and put a candle for her and the kids to sing birthday song... Anyway, we are planning to customise a cake for her for the coming chinese lunar calendar birthday.

This is the only photo mommy managed to take with my 2 girls for the night, as QY was too busy to play around with her cousin, Alicia and Jia Hong.

"Mommy, come and see... the cloud is moving..." That's exactly what QY told me last week. She was lying on the sofa in our living hall while enjoying her milk... Suddenly she discovered something new and run fast to get me and told me about this while I was in the kitchen. And of course, I have to act as surprise and excited as her to look upon the high sky and the moving white cloud.

I am happy that she has good and close observation on the things surround her. I can't really remember when did I realise that cloud can be moved in the sky, but one thing for sure is it is definitely not happened at the age of 5.

Qian Yi

- I send her to the junior muzik class every Sunday. Just want to give her an opportunity to learn and expose to the muzik world.
- The volumn of her school homework is quite heavy. Just hope she can cope well and enjoy the learning process instead of the scoring.

Qian Thung

- Didn't take her weight and height recently, but she has grown well after last month July fever.
- I try to spend few min a night to flash the mandarin card to her. One of the word is MA (horse in mandarin).
- She starts to mumble few words like 'ma ma'... not too sure she refer to food, me or the horse.
- She can understand and link things together... she will comb her hair when seeing comb, dig her ear when seeing the cotton bud.

Genting Highland trip

Finally we are back from Genting Highland yesterday. Just realised that it has been over 2 years since our last visit at mid-2007. Time really flies.. QY was only 3 that year but in her mind and memory, Genting highland or rather the little car riding at the Genting tower is her fantasy dream world.... Unfortunately, she didn't get to ride on it as now, she has exceeded the max height allowed (110cm). Even only 2 cm exceeded, she was still not allowed no matter how desperate I beg the person in charged.

Instead, she tried out other games such as bumper car, the 3D Monster show, Gondola boat, and many many more. 3 of us was having endless fun in the indoor theme park throughout the night. It's really tiring and exhausted for me but I was kind of happy to spend time with them. The next day, ah mah also accompany QY to play all over the ride again before we are heading back home.

Sick

By the time I posted this, QT had been recovered from the Roseola for a week plus. This sudden illness has make us cancelled our planned trip to KL & Genting highland for the long weekend.

This is the 2nd time she has suffered from fever since born but this round, her fever was really bad. Her body temperature has been sustained consistenly at level above 38 celcius - 39.7 celcius for 3 consecutive days. Numerous suppository medicine has been used and multiples attempt has been make to reduce her body heat. Finally we found out that cold bath has proved to be one of the effective and immediate remedy.

She is such a good and darling girl. Even with the uncomfortable body heat for days, there was no whine and no cranky and more importantly, she still drinking her milk regularly. With the great help and special care from my in law / her grandparent, we did not admit her into hospital and this has also saved her from all the needles and injection at the hospital. At day 4, her temperature finally subsided completely and doctor confirmed that it was roseola infection when the red rashes developed all over her body.

Some update on QT at 10 mths old,

- her weight is at 9.85 kg. Both of our hands were in pain terribly by carring her more than 30 min. I dare not imagine how heavy will she before she can walk by herself in 2 or 3 months time.

- I fetch her back everynite after work no matter how late or how tired I am. Just kind of enjoy her short stay at our own place before she doze off around 10.30pm. We drop her at my mum's place the next morning, and they will help to 'transfer' her to my in law place. Same thing we did for QY before we sent her for full day care 2 years ago.

- her appetite is very good. She wants to eat everything we eat. Every weekend, I make sure I cook the nutrition porriadge for her and QY.

- she is very playful and always laugh out loudly when we play with her.

In 2 months time, she will turn 1 yr old. We are now started to plan for her 1st birthday in Sept. She is definitely our precious child even though she is our 2nd girl / daughter.

Durian farm outing

As I mentioned in my earlier post, we seldom arrange any outdoor outing for the 2 girls. Thanks to the hot weather and the laziness of mommy and daddy.

However this morning, we decided to join the gang to go up to the durian plantation farm cum the house of a mommy's friend located at the Sungai Ara hill.

Some scenic view of the place and the surrounding. It's like back to the most nature life, and it's so soothing by looking up to the blue sky, white cloud and the green leaves.

Qian Yi & Ying Xin, both of them are also 5 this year. PINK are the favourite colour of all girls.

Small host of the place, acted like a experienced tour guide showed us the way to her durian tree plantation.

While we were enjoying the fruit, QT enjoy her chu chu. She is too small to enjoy all this but still, she behaved well even though it's already over her morning napping time. Just look at her sleepy eyes...

It was a totally good exposure and experience for QY as today, she got to breath-in the fresh and unpolluted air, chased after the hen and chicken and the cat, and play freely in the durian tree plantation. These are all those nature things that we have missed out in our daily busy city life.

As the times passes by, QT has grown up so much that she likes to mix and mingle with her only jie jie. Looking at them, I just felt so thankful and blessed to have them as my girls.

My small girl - I felt so surprised that she can understand our conversation well. Last nite, she started to cry and crawl towards me when I talked to QY :"Let's go home now." She wants to go home with us to our own place.

At age of 9 mths old, my small girl is now :-

- weighted at 9kg.
- 4 teeths at the upper gum & 2 teeths at the bottom gum
- crawling fast around the house
- love to eat sweet corn with her little teeths
- she is still very generous with her smile. But whenever she is not smile, she looks like in her deep thought look.
- she loves water and enjoy her bathing time everyday. I let her play with the water at our swimming pool last weekend and she enjoyed herself so much. Plan to bring her for a swim this coming weekend.
- she had a great fall from her babycot last weekend. All thanks to her dearest daddy...

May month birthday

Every year, we don't really celebrate Mother's day on the 2nd Sunday of May because both my mother and mother in law's birthday are fall in the month of May too.

Tonight we just celebrated my mother in law 63th years old birthday at Victoria station. Some story of her can be found here .

After dinner, it was the cake cutting session with a bouquet of pink roses at our place.

QY was in angry face... When she get angry, she choose to be in silent...

Monthly update on the 2 girls

At this stage - 8 months old,

- her weight is at 9kg. Height is at 72cm. According to her paedratric, her current height is above average as 75cm is the average height for an one year old chinese baby. Wonder whether her height will be arond 165cm after her puberty time???
- she learn how to crawl but the way she crawl make us think of the soldiers during the war time. Her whole body crawling without lifting her backside.
- she is now as active as a worm nowadays. I felt so tired and muscle-ache after carrying her for more than 1/2 hour.

- she has 2 teeths at her lower gum and 4 more teeths are to be coming out from her upper gum.

On the other hand, back to update on jie jie - Qian Yi...

- she is getting easily jealous over her little sister. I guess she just want to seek attention from me who used to give her 101% attention before QT was born. I have to try to be very fair when dealing with 2 of them. It's really not an easy task to manage 2 kids at one time.
- At one night during the pre-sleeping chatting session with daddy, she told him that she wanted to become Qian Thung instead as mommy always scold Qian Yi nowadays. I overheard this conversation from another room, felt so sorry and guilty towards her. Blaming myself for not being able to handle the 2 kids well..
- She still loves to sing and dance very much. Planning to send her to dancing class or piano class soon.

At this stage, QY is 4 yrs and 7 mths old while QT is 7 mths old. However, QY like to copy QT in term of the way mommy dress QT. If QT wear shirt with jeans, QY will definitely request to wear the same style and etc... Looks like mommy have to buy same dress for both of them in time to comes.

Some monthly development for QT,
- she wave her right hands if we say bye bye.. Looks so amusing to all of us.
- she just recover from flu, cough and running nose.
- she will fight with others with food.
- she started to take porridge on daily basis

For QY,
- she still loves the MAMA MIA soundtrack. We are so bored to listen to it but she still request to have it play whenever she is in the car.

I realised that my 2 kids don't really have much time spend on the outdoor activities. As such, we decided to get them one new bicyles and tricycle over the weekend. With the new toys, they will have opportunity to go out and expose to fresh air, and enjoy sigh seeing within our apartment compound. It's a new type of exercise for QY too and new way of bonding time spend with my 2 angels.

This week, I was so tied up and stressed over my work due to some tight timeline to meet.. However, this is the smiling + cute little face that rejuvenate me when seeing her after work. Just loves her sweet smile, and I am thankful that I have a smiling baby at home.

Sometimes by looking at her, I kept on wondering how fast time had goes by over the 4 yrs plus, and how quickly she has transformed from a newborn to a small adult she is today.

At this stage,

- She definitely love her only sister, she always wanted to help mommy to feed, bath and carry QT.

- She loves singing and dancing. Her latest new favourite song is the MAMA MIA. She can sing and memorise the sequence of almost all the songs in the CD.

- She started to learn Spelling, ejaan and chinese spelling at her kindy. Among all, she has special interest to read and write in Chinese. Mommy has just enrolled a nearby Chinese primary school for her last week.

When QT just turned 6 mths old, I am as excited as all new mother to introduce solid food to my baby. Look at those photo above and u will be able to tell and know how much she enjoy her food. Anyway, I have yet to introduce porriadge to her. Will definitely spare some time to cook a yummy porriadge by next few weeks.

On another note, last week - 9th of March marked the day I ended my breastfeeding day to QT. Felt loss but still happy to be managed to bf her for 6 mths and 1 week. Hope with this persistent hard work for the past 6 mths, she will be a healthy person throughout her entire life. On the other hand, I also felt 'guity' and 'regret' towards QY for not been able to bf her during her baby times. Sorry, my big baby!!!

Half a year has just passed by ever since QT was here in Sept'08. Time has just passed by freaking fast....

At the age of 6 months old,

- Just like any other first time mother out there, mommy was happy and still eager to introduce solid food to the 6 mths old baby. Bought a tin of organic baby cereal and she definitely like to 'eat' and taste it. Mommy also started to home-made some sweet potato mash for her during weekend.
- Her weight is at 8.4kg. Body length at 69 cm. Wondering whether she has overgrown as she is able to fit into the 12-18 mths old baby shirt and pants.
- She protest loudly whenever we try to put her into sleep
- Her overall sleeping time has reduce

- She can 'walk' and move very fast when she is in her walker

- She was down with flu one week ago but recover fast after taking medicine.

- She can drinks 5 oz milk every 2 or 3 hours. Since CNY, mommy could only produce 1 bottle of 4oz breastmilk per day but still happy that mommy managed to keep up my promise to breastfeed till 6 mths old.

- She is getting 'naughtier' and cheeky day after day.

Few weeks ago, mommy's best friend - aunt Phaik Nie brought over her 2 daughters to meet up with Qian Yi and Qian Thung. 2 big jie jie - Carine and QY was having endless fun to play with each other for hours. While their little sisters 'joining' mommy's chit chat session.

Though we have 2 girls, coincidently we have same mindset that we just feel happy and contended to have only 2 kids. We know and hear 'voices' out there - 'Why not try for a boy?", "Without a son, your will have a lonely CNY reunion dinner as the girls will have to be back to their in-law house...." and bla bla bla... Still, nothing is shaking and changing our mind at this point of time. Back to the concern of 'lonely CNY reunion dinner', we managed to come up with a solution, i.e when the day comes (both girls also marry), we will organise a trip - just few days before CNY till 3rd of 4th day of CNY, a CNY gateway for us who do not have son. :)

Both hubby and myself are those parent whom seldom bring baby out, especially when they are below 12 months old. We have tonnes of reasons for not doing so, like do not want the baby to exposure to the polluted air in the shopping mall, baby needs to have a good and quality sleep at their own cradle, and so on so forth. Actually the main reason is - it's too troublesome to prepare, pack and bring the baby stuff.

During QY's baby time, I don't really have much memory about the outing activities until she reached 2 yrs old.

For QT, we also practise the same until last week, we started to bring her out to expose to the outside world. She looks so happy and excited to the big crowd in the mall on Sat night ...

While we enjoying our chicken drumstick at Nandos, she enjoys mommy's hand drumstick too...

QY and ah Ku. Funny conversation between 2 of them :-

QY : "Ah ku, u like baby or not?"

Ah Ku : "Yes. why?"

QY : "If u like baby, then u ask your mommy to 'sheng' baby for you lar..." LOL

Mommy has a group of good friends since schooling time. We always has our occasional gathering from time to time. Last Sunday, we had our dinner at Chok Dee Thai restaurant for a table. Food was yummy and delicous. Besides baby Qian Thung, another new members to our group - Jia You who has just turned 1 yrs old in Jan'09.

Really looking forward to have more new juniors to join this group ...

Miss Botak head

New botak head in town this week. Qian Thung was just had her 1st hair cut at the salon near ah mah's place. During her full moon in Oct'08, we only managed to cut some of her little hair.

Qian Thung new hairstyle... her eyes looks even bigger without hairs.

Our best ever Valentine day gift - my 2 lovely girls.

At 5 months old,

- her weight is at 7.9kg, increased 0.4kg within a month.
- she laugh out loudly when we play with her.
- drink 5 oz of milk in every 3 hourly
- she can sit unsupported for a while. But I still bought her the green bumboo seat, as shown in the photo above.
- she behave as a very good girl in ah mah house. Sleep well for few hours and no whine and no cranky. But back home on weekend, she behave differently... always cry for mommy carry and I can hardly have my own time for more than 1 hour.
- she love to smile... love her angelic smiling face..

CNY Gathering(s)

This year, one of the reunion that I enjoyed most was the gathering dinner at Azuma Japanese restaurant.. Get to catch up with lots of high school's friends... we eat, we chat, and of course we laugh as if we are still 16 yrs old... Missed those days terribly, those were the days.

My dear friends surprised me with the birthday cake, an one day belated birthday cake cutting session.. Sooo happy and so touch to blow birthday candle with all of them... Again, I felt like I am back to those day when we were 16... oh my oh, my sweet 16!!!

Our next generation... there are about 9 kids around but some of them not in the photos as it's not an easy task to get all of them to post for a shoot.

Another annual big event from daddy's side gathering... Qian Thung was the youngest among all.

Can't really recall the reason of my absence for the 2008 dinner. Hmm... look back to the photos taken in 2007 dinner, there are some changes to this group of people. Some have just married, some just become parent and some with new addition member to their family. This is life!

Another gathering of only 3 of us - QY, daddy and mommy on day 4 of CNY which is also mommy's birthday. Left QT with in law as she needs her afternoon nap. We had lunch at Chillis and dinner at the Xuan Sheng restaurant at Gurney Plaza. Though no grand celebration, I just love it the way I spend my big day of the year!

Now, if I were to visualise one year from now, hmm.... I can see my 2 daughters singing birthday song for me and competing to blow the candles in the cake... Really can't wait to see it real...

My CNY celebration officially end when I started work on day 5 - 30 Jan 2009.

Our Chinese Lunar New Year officially started off with a praying session at 12 pm on the eve of CNY. May the year of OX brings us excellent health, prosperity and happiness...

1st day of CNY - visiting paternal grandparent. Today, maternal gong gong, ah mah and ah ku flying off to China for a leisure holiday in the early morning.

Qian Yi in her favourite cheong sam. She has grown up so much that she has developed and choosing her own taste of fashion. This is her 5th CNY celebration.

2nd day of CNY - all families member drove back to Taiping. QY get some new experience on motorbike. More photos can be seen from my sis in law blog.

3rd day of CNY - continuing the 'pai nia' activities to places like mommy's grandmother and aunt's house.
