Last weekend

Saturday
We brought Qian Yi to the Melody nursery Open day for the 2008 enrollment. I have been considering few nursery in my mind but haven't decided as there are just too many choices out there... QY has been longed to go to school especially she seen those kids at her age wearing school uniform and carrying a school bag every morning.

The environment of this new nursey is good - new, clean, windy and of course, looks fun with those colourful drawing on the wall. After enquiry, we decided to enroll her to this newly open branch of Melody at Sungai Ara. So my little darling will be 'schooling' on 19 Nov 2007.

Sunday
We attended Jia Hong's nursery year end school concert at the Vistana Hotel. QY enjoys the performance of those 'ge ge and jie jie'... End of the session, she even wanted to go up to the stage to sing and dance with those student...


















































In the evening, we went to PISA stadium for the Magical Music show. But the show is ok only. She enjoys those junk food session with her friends the most.

Tag : FTWM or SAHM (Part II)

Just received a tag from Hooi Ling on whether I wish to become a Full time working mother or Stay at Home mother if a choice is given. Actually I was being tagged by Tiffany on the same theme in July’07, I wrote it and I actually re-phrase it to whether I would like to become a Fixed hour working mother or Flexi hour working mother.

Even I had wrote it before, I am still more than happy to rewrite on the same tag as part II. Hmm....my choice still goes to become a Flexi hour working mother if I have a choice or whenever the timing is right....

As at now, I am still a full time working mother in Finance arena from Mon till Friday, 9 - 7pm. This is my day in day out Finance role in my current company. I would think that my decision to pursue and study in Accounting and Finance 12 years ago had led me to this role in this field today. I have no regret with the area of profession I’d chosen for myself back then. The only drawback is the fixed and long working hours that need to spend in the office.

During my spare time, I have embarked a new journey of career at my interest. It all happened really unplanned, and I have never thought I would be in this field. 3 years ago, out of sudden I came to know a friend of my dad whom is a successful unit trust consultant of his own agency. He thus recruited me as his downline and I remembered I was happily accepted his suggestion to start to study the related material, go for exam, attending related courses and etc. Along the way, I learned and shared to my family member and friends and help them to invest in their preferred funds based on their risk appetite. I felt extremely happy when seeing them making money and their saving/investment portfolio has turned out to be better than their expectation. Today I am still an active unit trust consultant and lately, has justed promoted to next level after hitting certain quota set. Indeed, I swear I never realized it can be another source of income for me the moment I made up my mind to take up this role 3 years back.

On the other hand, 2 years back, by fate I reunion with one of my 10 years long-lost school friend. At that time I was looking for some education plan for Qian Yi as I know the benefit to plan and save as early as possible. She recommended me the saving concept and the education plan from her insurance company. At the same time, she also encouraged me to take up the financial consultant in insurance line. After several considerations and considerations, I decided to take up these challenge as an insurance agent with FEAR. I have no confident at all. As expected, the very beginning of this road turned out to be as tough as I thought. I have got to ramp up myself with the basic insurance knowledge, study and digest most of the plans and products from my company to various insurance companies in the market out there. But the most difficult part is to prepare myself from my very inner side to be out there to talk to people to ‘sell’ something to them. At once, I was very down and almost give up this role when there were rejections after rejections.... the story continue and today I am still surviving. Special thanks to those who support me (u know who u are, thank you so much), and thanks to those who rejected me as every rejection is actually a new learning opportunity. I am happy with this role as it really open my eye to the insurance line that I once hated it so much. I never know that insurance/financial consultant can be as professional as a lawyer or even a doctor. Today, I've gained valuable knowledge from financial planning perspective, and I feel happy for myself that I learn how to plan for personal risk and management ; how to compute and plan for our retirement ; how to plan and fund our child education and so on so forth.

In short, I am happy to work on this 3 role at this moment and I am glad to say that my little darling is so ‘supportive’ of my work… She is very understable whenever I am away for work, training or even appointment. May my wish to become a flexi hour working mother come true one fine day.

KL trip - Raya Holiday

For the long Hari Raya holiday, we drove down to KL for 2nd time in year 2007.

We had lunch at the Mdm Kwan's restaurant at Pavilion. Qian Yi likes the nasi lemak but not the curry chicken... Too hot for her standard.
















Qian Yi and Celest - long distance good friends. They can still remember each other even though not seeing for months.

My little cutie wearing the 1st bikini mommy bought for her from Baby Gap during the mega sales. In her little mind, she thought this is a bra because everytime she wear this, she will say "this one same like mommy ho.."

I brought her for a photo shooting session at Queensbay mall last month. While waiting for her turn, she warmed up herself as a model and she thought it's very style to post like this... check out her head position from the photo below.

After that, we put her to the high chair and the girl help to put on colour on her face. She enjoy this session so much as I never allowed her to touch on my make up set. She even dare not close her mouth when the lipstick is put on her lips. There are a little imagine to choose from, we choose angel cloth for her but unfortunately we are banned to take photo on our own.
















Back home after the shooting session, she still refuses to clean her face.

Happy Moment

Lately I have a colleague who is always very sad - sad of his job to everything relate to him since young till now. Seeing his sad look and sad face, I feel like I am indeed a lucky person and thus I start to recall and count on my daily blessing that I have currently.

Apart from my job and dream, my biggest happinness comes from my little angel who bring bundle of joy and laughter to me and my family since 3 years back. She is our sunshine, little angel, princess and everything. Little things that she do and say will always made a day to us.

Every morning
After dropping her to my mum's place and waving goodbye to her to start my work, she normally insist a goodbye kiss from me. The way we kiss goodbye is very unique - she will stand inside the house while mommy stand outside the house. And this little cutie will point and choose the square from the door and kiss me from there. She will say : "mommy, kiss this one. that one.... higher one.... ok. ... enough... bye...fetch me at 6 clock hoo..". I felt so blessed to have her in my life.

Every night
After daddy park the car at the car park at our apartment, 3 of us will walk back to our block which is about 5 min walking distance. During this 5 min walk, we will stroll and big hand holding small hand under the moonlight and streetlight. Sometimes we sing together, sometimes we chat. Or mommy will ask her daily questions like :"Qian Yi, today who bath for you? Do u take rice or porriade? Anything happened today?" Then, she will start to tell me the things she did during the day time while mommy was away for work. I really enjoy such a precious moment with my family.

Brave and Calm

We had a simple dinner outside tonight and headed back to our apartment straight away. Upon reaching the apartment, only we realised there is a lantern festival gathering by the poolside. Qian Yi was so excited and requested that she wants to join the gathering too but without bringing along her lantern as it was at ah mah's house. Mommy sense her disppointment of no lantern on hand, thus we drove back to Sunshine Square to buy her a new lantern so that she can join the gang happily.

Back to the poolside with a lantern, we lingered there for around 30 min. The gathering finally dismissed at 10pm, and we walked back to our block. 3 of us were waiting for the lift, door opened and as usual QY rush into the lift quickly . But this time the door closed immediately while mommy and daddy were still stand outside. I were so shocked as QY was alone in the lift. Daddy acted fast by go into another lift to level 4 as we saw the lift QY was in stopped at level 4. I stayed at the same place hoping QY will come down to the groundfloor. My heart beated so hard but my instint was telling me that she will be alright. Few min later, the lift QY was in finally came down and the door opened. Thank god, my little girl was still there holding the lantern. I can tell and read from her face how scared she was for being alone in the lift, mommy quickly went and hug her tightly and console her that everything is alright now. Surprisingly, she didn't burst into tear and still looks calm. Later, she told me :"Mommy, I press G." (G stand for Ground floor).

Though I am proud of her calmness and bravely act, I kept on reminding her that she must hold mommy or daddy's hand while waiting for the lift. I dare not imagine the consequencies if this were happenned on a multilevel shopping mall.

My little Angel turn 3 today

Today my little angel officially turn 3. Time really really flies fast. She has grown so much for the past 3 years, from a newborn to a toddler that talks and know so much things nowadays. Looking at her growing pace, only then realised how fast time has passed by.

We organised a small birthday party at Swenson Queensball mall, inviting both side family and some close extended family. (A side note to QY when u are big enough to read this - U are indeed a very lucky girl that loved by so many people around you.)

The only guest at QY's age - Jia Hong. Alicia was absence as she followed her parent to attend a wedding dinner. Mommy choose some Barney party hat and whistle from Toy s rus for the kids.















Mommy placed a special order cake for this little princess on her big day for the year - a barbie-doll cake. QY likes it so much that she started to giggling the first moment she saw her cake. Mommy felt happy too that I've made her dream come true as she has told me she wants a barbie doll cake just few days before her birthday.

She sang happily the birthday song, both English and Mandarin version. She even gave a short speech :"Ladies and gentle, boys and girls, today is my birthday, thanks for coming." Everyone was amused by her speech.

A weekend spend with Qian Yi

Saturday

In the afternoon, mommy cooked Qian Yi favourite noodle ~ Japanese cold noodle. I simplified the cooking method in making the sauce, yet both daddy and QY loves to eat.




















Mommy : "Qian Yi, mommy feed u. U don't know how to use chopstick."
Qian Yi : " Qian Yi want to learn how to use, mommy."

Mommy felt speechless hearing this word ~ L E A R N. Hahaha...

At night, we went over to 2 gu-gong house. Before we go, we were telling QY that 2-kim poh had passed away and told her must keep quite upon reaching 2 gu-gong's house. Over there, she kept on telling us that : "Kim-poh is sleeping, don't disturb, ok?" ; "Kim-poh cannot come out already, too small..." after she seeing her kim-poh is lying in the white coffin placed in the house. 2 kim-poh has passed away at the age of 72 on Friday night after being diagonosed with Leukimia 4 or 5 months ago. May she rest with peace....

Sunday

QY likes to do exercise whenever she is at my mum's house. She is the fastest and most energtic among all cycling on this machine.

Fun at Bathing Time

I know there are kids who hate or dislike bathing.... For them, bathing time is just so suffering that they must scream or cry out loud. Seeing and knowing this, I do not want QY to have this bad habit as I think bathing time should be a time where mommy and QY can spend together after a day of hard work for mommy, and a full day of playing time for QY.

I always want to make bathing time as enjoyable as I can for QY. As such, I allow her to bring her doll and toys into the washroom during bath time so that she can 'bath' for her doll while mommy bath for her. I guess my trick is very successful as she loves to bath and look forward for the bathing time every day.

Baby Joshua birthday party

Tiffany invited us to her son ~ Joshua 1st birthday party today. Mommy is as excited as QY to attend the birthday party as this is going to be QY 1st birthday invitation from non-family member.

We reached her house around 5.30pm. QY started to get herself used to the 'strange' environment by standing there and observe the people in the house. Few minutes later, she started to mingle around with the birthday boy, others kids as well as the birthday boy's Ah Mah and the Indonesia helper. I would think she is rather 'sociable' at her age. haha.....

She has great fun during the party over the foods (she even being offered a bowl of porriage from the birthday boy's ah mah) and the people around. On Sunday morning, she even told me this :" Mommy, tomorrow I want to go birthday party again, ok?"
